2018 Project Fund launched
Healthwatch Oxfordshire has launched its 2018 Project Fund, to help voluntary sector and self-help groups carry out research projects.
Organisations can apply for a grant of up to £5,000 to carry out research into a health or social care-related topic of their choice. If the project is approved, Healthwatch Oxfordshire will offer both financial support and help in the production of the final report.
Previous projects supported in this way by Healthwatch Oxfordshire have included research into the experiences of the gypsy and traveller community in accessing healthcare, the experiences of survivors of female genital mutilation, the problems faced by refugees when finding care in the county, and the need for bereavement support in Banbury.
There are two deadlines for the submission of applications – February 8 2018 and March 8 2018. Once approved, projects must be completed by the end of September.
Rosalind Pearce, Executive Director of Healthwatch Oxfordshire, said: “The project fund will support voluntary sector and self-help groups to carry out focused, community based research, giving insight into needs and experiences of people living in Oxfordshire. This will help identify both good practice and highlight areas for improvement in health and social care services across the county.
